JAMES MAHONEY, PH.D.

Dr. James F. Mahoney has more than 46 years of experience in material management, logistics planning, organizational development, quality assurance and consulting.  He established The Paragon Group, an ISO 9000 consulting organization, following his retirement from Hughes Aircraft in December 1995.  While at Hughes, he was an International Program Manager for the Ship Self-Defense Systems Program Office, working in Japan, Taiwan, Israel, Pakistan, the United Kingdom and Australia.  Prior to his employment at Hughes, he retired from the U.S. Air Force after a twenty-year career as a Logistics Plans and Material Management officer.  Since establishing The Paragon Group in 1995, Jim has been the sole or lead consultant in the successful preparations of over two hundred and thirty companies for their ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification audits and has participated in the preparations of an additional twenty companies as a supporting consultant.  Types of businesses represented include aerospace machine shops, metal stretch-forming, electronics, rubber products, plastic injection and blow-molding, metal forging, and distribution companies.  Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Boston College, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge, a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Organization and Management from Capella University.  He has been an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University and Brandman University in the fields of Management, International Politics, Criminal Justice, Political Philosophy and Political Science from 1973 to 2010.
