The University of Riverside seeks mature, capable students who have the preparation and motivation needed to accomplish their academic and professional goals. In addition, it is expected that successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to and a passion for their chosen field of study.
Admission decisions are based upon both objective and subjective criteria. An applicant's previous academic record is an important predictor of his or her ability to succeed at the University of Riverside. Previous work experience in the selected field of study may also be taken into consideration. Personal and/or professional letters of recommendation are included in the process. Finally, a personal interview with a university administrator is required of all resident applicants.
The University of Riverside welcomes all adult learners and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, disability, gender or in any other way in its policies, practices, or procedures involving applicants, learners, faculty, staff and the public. Please note, however, that the University reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone the University believes does not meet its academic standards
